The Vessel

Temptasy Studios Vael Character

The Physical Manifestation

Vael was not chosen by prophecy. He was an accident of geography, standing at the wrong coordinates when the boundary between worlds shattered. Now, his deep brown skin is a living document, carrying the physical residue of ten divine beings. A crimson branch at his throat. A geometric gold brand on his shoulder. A void black fracture on his arm. His face bears the legible, exhausted marks of someone who has survived consequence repeatedly, and his dark eyes hold a steadiness that costs him everything to maintain.

The Core Essence

The marks are not tattoos, they are living lenses of sin. Desire, certainty, greed, and wrath bleed into his consciousness simultaneously. Vael manages this through The Conduct, an exhausting, continuous process of regulating ten divine perspectives to find his own mortal centre. His personal sin is Desperatio, the active, consuming despair of a man who sees the full, terrifying truth of the cosmos, understands exactly what every choice will cost, and must make a choice anyway.

The Divine Domain

Vael does not have a realm. He is a condition. Wherever he walks, he creates The Convergence Point, a bubble of cosmological significance that physically drags the divine architecture toward him. Within his immediate radius, the dominance hierarchy of the gods flattens, their overwhelming sin energy equalised by the presence of the other nine. He is the only living thing since the original Severance that contains all ten qualities in a single vessel.

The story begins where certainty fails

The gods have made their claims. The ten marks are burning. Vael has yet to give his answer.
